Eaton’s high reliability power transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes provide overvoltage protection with very fast response times, low clamping voltage and high peak current capability across a host of electronic equipment. They are AEC-Q101 qualified and are available in both surface mount and radial/thru-hole footprints and utilize silicon avalanche technology for excellent protection against damaging transient surges, from ESD up to induced lightning. Eaton’s power TVS diodes can suppress up to 8 kW of peak power dissipation and 247 A on a 10/1000 us waveforms for surface mount packages. The radial/thru-hole packages can suppress up to 12 kW peak power and 270 A on 10/1000 us waveforms. Product families meet up to ISO 16750-2 5a & 5b standards. The high peak power and current capability combined with the very fast acting response times make them ideal for protecting critical circuits.
